Visit to Vam Sat - Can Gio Mangrove Forest

Our journey continued with Rose and family from Malaysia. We visited Vam Sat – Can Gio Mangrove Forest recently. It is a wetland, approximately 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City. This mangrove forest is a reserve for many wildlife in Vietnam and it is a UNESCO listed site. We started our day by taking a canoe ride along the beautiful river and saw the fishing activity of the local people. As the ride threaded through the vast mangrove forest, we saw many bats sleeping on the trees. The trip continued with a visit to a crab farm and learned the interesting facts about crabs. We also visited a crocodile farm and a bird sanctuary. Then, we proceeded to a high tower and admired the panoramic view of the reserve. After lunch, we visited the Monkey Island. The trip was definitely fun and filled with laughter! Do come to Vietnam again.
