Ben Tre is a town in Mekong Delta and it is famous for coconuts. We visited this picturesque town recently. A boat ride along the wide river is a must. One will see hardworking workers sorting out coconuts for sale. There were also fishermen earning their living. We also took a drive around the village and enjoyed the green and peaceful scenery.
What a great way to celebrate New Year by visiting Mekong Delta. Life in the delta is absolutely different from the busy Ho Chi Minh City. Here, life is centered on the Mekong River. We saw how the people earn their living - as fishermen and selling all types of fresh produce. We took a boat ride and tasted some delicious fruits. The journey continued by exploring a village. We also learnt how to make rice paper. It was truly an exciting day away from the city.
On 23 December 2017, I guided two tourists from England on a city tour. Our first stop was to visit a local market and some narrow alleys. Then, we went to Thien Hau temple and it just happened that there was a ceremony. So, we saw a performance of lion and dragon dance. From there we had the exhilarating trishaw ride around the city. Then, we had morning break on "The Coffee Ship". Lunch was at a restaurant before we saw a few interesting sites at the Dong Khoi area. It was truly an enjoyable day. Hope to see you all in Vietnam again!
