A day away from busy Saigon. Come and experience Ben Tre in Mekong with me. We will take a boat ride, enjoy fresh tropical fruits, listen to some Vietnamese songs, explore the village and meet the local people.
Visiting Ho Chi Minh City before Tet was an added bonus for my lovely American tourists on shore excursion. Tet is the Lunar New Year celebration in Vietnam. The streets were beautifully decorated with flowers and many ornaments. Being the Year of the Dog, decorations in the form of dogs were found throughout the city. We visited a few famous landmarks in the city like the Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the former Tan Son Nhut Air Base, the General Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the huge square in front of the City Hall. For lunch, we had delicious Vietnamese cuisine at a local restaurant which my tourists thoroughly enjoyed! We also had the opportunity to visit the famous street of calligraphers. This annual event before Tet brought many calligraphers together to present their exquisite handwritten words or phrases of good luck, prosperity and wonderful life in the coming year. I was happy that my tourists had a great time in discovering the history and culture of the Vietnamese people. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới (Happy New Year).
